Upgrading

I was trying to upgrade my test board from 3.6.8 to 3.7 beta 3.

In the manual it says;

"Connect to your FTP server and with the new vBulletin files in the local pane and the existing old files in the remote pane, drag the forums directory into the parent directory of your remote vBulletin installation as shown here:"

So I got the upload file that I renamed and dragged it over the top of the folder called "vbtest".... Yet it doesn't ask If I want to overwrite .... I'm using smartFTP.

I went to the url www.thecomputerforumz.com/forum/vbtest/install/upgrade.php

I login in successfully but nothing shows like it should -- a welcome message.

You most likely added in somewhere else or you made a typo in the folders name.

You can give us a screen shot of what your file structure looks like... plus you would need to make sure you add the proper information back into config.php and have a working database for test site.

It appears your test board 3.6.8 resides in a folder named "forum". When you renamed the forum folder to vbtest and dragged that folder itself on top off your forum folder on the remote server you copied the vbtest folder and its contents into your forum directory. You should have uploaded just the contents of the folder that contains the new 3.7.0 b3 files and not the folder itself.
