Is this a mistake or has it been change to be included to work in vBulletin core script.

It is part of the Anti-spam system. You can apply an Akismet key to use the service forum wide in 3.7.0.

I was wondering how long it'll take before people notice it.
You can enable debug mode to see the new option in vBulletin Options ;) I haven't test to see whether or not it works already, though.
