Couple of issues

This is a migration from phpbb 2.0.17 to vB 3.6.8

First off, avatars did not come over in the import. I had some avatar error messages during the import, but didn't pay a lot of attention to them. Any thoughts? (I did try to rebuild the avatar index in 'update counters', but that didn't help)

Secondly, I seem to have imported ALL PM's ever made, even those that should be flagged as deleted. Some of us have over 1000 PM's. Is there a bug, or a step I can take to prevent this?

The above was a test run, I am hoping to do the live run tonight.

We'd have to know what the errors were, but more than likely you did not specify the correct path to those avatars.

I'm not sure what 'flagged' as deleted means for phpBB. Either they are deleted or not. If they are not deeleted from the db then it's no surprise that Impex imported them.

Import worked well.....the interesting thing is when I edit users (in the admin panel) I can see the avatars. They just aren't showing up in the postbit. Must be another index I need to rebuild in Maintenance?

You can try running:

Admin CP -> Maintenance -> Update Counters -> Fix broken user profiles

If that doesn't work then create a new style and choose no parent style. This will force it to use the default templates. Then change to this style and view your forums with it. Do you have the same problem?

If you do, empty your browser cache, close all browser windows and try again.

Delete the 'Site Admin' User Rank. After this, run this counter:

Admin CP -> Maintenance -> Update Counters -> Update User Titles and Ranks
