I've been looking for a new host for maybe a month now, and out of the several that I've looked at Host Pro seems to be in the direction that the site is moving in. It's #1 on so many top host list. We're getting a semi-dedicated server with no more than 7 sites. Do you guys think that I will have problems?

Or has anyone ever had problems with hostpro?
the site is on CI Host now. THEY SUCK. you get what you pay for....

Vservers is a Hostpro company, and I haven't seen any bad comments about them at all. Actually, only good comments about Vservers/Hostpro.

I ended up switching to them recently. (to soon to review though)

They are all a MicronPC company after the merge. Their support team is one of the best and excellent. Altough a bit pricey for a "VServer Semi Detached" the overall service is very good.

I've been a VServers customer for over a year now and have nothing but good things to say about them. I'll be upgrading to a HostPro dedicated server soon, and expect that I will receive the same type of service there.

our account just got set up today. it's the v server ultra. no problems? withe board and everything too?

can i ask you something. what's the path to your home directory?

I found something in the manual like

/usr/local/username

username that we use to login into FTP? just double checking. I'll probably find out soon enough, but I thought I'd ask anyway. :)

We actually had a bad experience with HostPro, so much so we decided to stay with Interland... That's saying something. ;)

They're customer service rocks... but their admins leave something to be desired. I think VServers/Hostpro is going to have some major growing pains coming up here, and we didn't want to risk staying with them through that.

I signed up with VServers in mid July for Ultra Server (semi dedicated...) and I've been very very very happy with support, tech help and the ease of the transition. I' ve been able to talk to tech support 24/7. They are helpful and kind and if they don't know an immediate answer, they call me back. The few short outages since I've moved in have been because of a planned maintenance or a surprise network issue. Short, fixed and back up.....

Yes, a bit more than I wanted to spend but for the money, I'm very happy. For my previous hosts, I dealt with only one person for tech support and sales. Tech support, sales...all with one person. Made me feel like those companies were very small....maybe not but was the perception I got.

With VServers, I've talked to a number of people and even have a performance team rep that contacts me regularly to check on mysql database issues...making sure I'm happy and that we aren't getting that grim error message. They have bent over backwards to make sure that we had the room, bandwidth, and mysql access that we needed for the size of our boards.....

I'm very happy with vservers/host pro. Big? Growing pains? Maybe...but I like that!

Actually, not all of us have a multi-million dollar computer company backing us :)

But yes, we are a small company (there is more than just me but I am sure we don't have as big of a staff as HostPro/Micron/VServers). The majority of our clients are with us because we are small and we can offer that additional support that we provide that larger hosting companies like VServers can't provide.
