As per the instructions you need to upload the file cpnav_impex.xml (which can be found in upload/includes/xml) to the includes/xml directory.

That's not possible if you have uploaded the Impex files correctly. Please follow the instructions again.

To be filled in
# mysql / mssql
$impexconfig['source']['databasetype'] = 'mysql';
$impexconfig['source']['server'] = '';
$impexconfig['source']['user'] = 'theco55';
$impexconfig['source']['password'] = '********;
$impexconfig['source']['database'] = 'theco55_forum';
$impexconfig['source']['tableprefix'] = 'phpbb_';
I know these
database type - mysql
user - theco55
password - xxxxxxx (not in there for obvious reasons
database name - theco55_forum
tableprefix - phpbb_
As you can see - we have everything right.

Can I make the suggestion that you actually read the instructions?
There's a section called after the import which you need to follow.
Jason2
Tue 11th Dec '07, 6:41pm
Right all posts are now showing... my name is "Imported_Jason2" for some reason.
One of my members it says he's banned. No users can login - signatures aren't there...
What's gone wrong this time - nothing but trouble..

The lack of help is something you can fix. Like I said, read the instructions. Most of your problems are outlined there.

I have gone through the instructions and nothing is working. It fails on the users, this is from a member -
i requested a new password and i enter my email address and it just says i have not entered an email address and i have 3 times
Nothing seems to be working - although I can see the posts ect.
And I'm named as "Imported_Jason2".

The 'imported_' prefix is added when a user is imported which has the same username and a diffferent email address as someone that is already on the forums. This is a safety mechanism to make sure you do not overwrite existing accounts.
If you sure these users are the same people, you can use the Merge Users functions to merge those accounts:
Admin CP -> Users -> Merge Users

Tue 11th Dec '07, 8:43pm
The problem is - none of my members are coming through to the new forum. It says I have no members.

Your own picture shows 43 members were imported. Please explain exactly what the issue is.
Also as has been pointed out, please view the 'After the Import' instructions here:

That is why I asked for specifics. :)
There are two options you need to check to set whether or not members are viewable on memberlist:
1. By usergroup:
Admin CP -> Usergroups -> Usergroup Manager -> Edit -> Usergroup Options -> Viewable on the Memberlist -> Yes
2. By post count:
Admin CP -> vBulletin Options -> User Listing & Profile Viewing -> Minimum Posts
Jason2
Tue 11th Dec '07, 8:58pm
All groups are marked "Viewable on memberlist"...
Still there not showing.
I have one member trying to login and it says he's banned.

I had to assign each and every member to the "Register users" group and now there all showing in the "member list" and some can log in. Do I now use that cleaner to change all the BB code ect.?
I'm abit confused with the cleaner - what exactly do you do?

Tue 11th Dec '07, 10:36pm
I do not know how to use cleaner.php. Someone else will need to help with that.
It would help to know exactly what is not working, i.e., what you are doing and what happens when you do it.

Wed 12th Dec '07, 6:38am
Ok,
Well when you go to make a new thread/reply - you have the option to make the text bold, alight it right ect.. and make clickable links - however, when I try to click them = nothing happens and it's the same for the smilies.

Right - here's a screenshot of when I'm trying to make a post.
http://i234.photobucket.com/albums/ee123/Jason_scfc/BBcode.jpg
As you can see, all the buttons are there - however I cannot click them.
Here's another screenshot from a "Member".
http://i234.photobucket.com/albums/ee123/Jason_scfc/Post.jpg
As you can see, the BBcode isn't even showing for him....
I just don't know what to do....
I've paid over £100 for this - and it just doesn't seem to be working.

Your clientscript folder isn't uploaded correctly. Re-upload all vbulletin files, excluding config.php.
Jason2
Wed 12th Dec '07, 10:28am
Is that for the board or impex?
Regards Jason :)
Jason2
Wed 12th Dec '07, 12:00pm
Right.... We did a fresh install to test the BBcode. Before converting it we tried to use the BBcode - however it still won't let us click anything - like the Bold button ect..
So anyone know how to fix this?
We enabled all BBCoding....

Just started from scratch and now the BBcode is working. However my mate still can't see the BBcode that you have when posting... I've put him in a group where BBcode is allowed and still nothing.

He needs to select the enhanced editor in his User CP:
User CP -> Edit Options -> Message Editor Interface -> Enhanced Interface
Jason2
Wed 12th Dec '07, 2:48pm
Ok that worked thanks. SO every user has to do that? I registered at a VB board and I already had the BBcode.
I have one more problem now.
All members are showing in the memberlist - however it says this at the bottom;
Threads: 205, Posts: 1,009, Members: 0, Active Members: 0
What do I do?
Regards Jason :)

1. See this thread for instructions on setting the default vB options for new and existing users:
http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/showthread.php?t=173779
2. Try running all the User-related counters here:
Admin CP -> Maintenance -> Update Counters
Jason2
Wed 12th Dec '07, 2:58pm
Thanks for the link.
I did the update counters but it's now showing; Threads: 203, Posts: 1,007, Members: 7, Active Members: 7
Which is wrong.

I've got my members to show - however - when I make a member have Admin privavalleges - they can't see everything in the ACP - like permissions ect.
Regards Jason :)
Steve Machol
Wed 12th Dec '07, 4:10pm
You need to set the appropriate permissions:
Admin CP -> Usergroups -> Administrator Permissions
You may need to make yourself a Super Admin in order to do this. Edit this section of config.php:
// ****** SUPER ADMINISTRATORS ******
// The users specified below will have permission to access the administrator permissions
// page, which controls the permissions of other administrators
$config['SpecialUsers']['superadministrators'] = 'x';
...and replace x with your userid (not user name.)

That did it! You've been a huge help mate!

Jason2
Wed 12th Dec '07, 4:28pm
Well I have a lot of BBcode errors like "[/b:20ege03r]" in forum descriptions and font on some threads has gone really big. My question is how exactly do you run that cleaner.php. I found the file but what do you do with it?
Regards Jason :)

I heard that you have to put www.yoururl.com/cleaner.php but I just get an 404 error.
Is anyone going to help me run this "Cleaner.php"?

Open it up in an editor and read though the instructions in the file to ensure you have things set up.
Though if you have bbcode like : [/b:20ege03r] you're going to need a regular expression to clean that out, do you have the preceding [b:20ege03r] as well ?
Jason2
Wed 12th Dec '07, 6:39pm
In some of the Forum descriptions I have text like that. Here's another one - [/b:39ajsfhw]
I will read through that file now.

The file is just a tool, you have to configure it to clean out what you want.
