Public album VS profile images

This should be changed to either allow private albums for profile images or to add a seperate upload option on the profile customization page. It looks tacky with profile images (backgrounds/gradients) in a public album.

I absolutely agree with this. It does look tacky, having your profile images in a public album.

One more 'yes' vote here for this. If anything I think that profile images are a perfect example as to why somebody would even need a private album in the first place.

Yes please just allow profiles and wherever to use graphic files from a PRIVATE album. Sorted.

If it is marked as private then people do not have permission to view the images and therefore they won't be shown on the profile anyway.

I don't think private should be the word to use here.

I would like the option, when creating a new album, so perhaps select a checkbox that would say something along the lines of "Make this your profile image album?" and that album wouldn't necessarily be described as private in the sense most would think of it as, but rather, no one could see the album (but the images would still be there for the profile). That way we don't have to make a public album to hold our pictures; it seems pointless for everyone to look at all my albums and see one with nothing but pictures used for my profile in it.

I just think the current method is a bit annoying.

I'd suggest a Resources Album that can be used for one's own profile, and for putting pics into Groups.

I put some pics into several different groups but as a collection the only thing in common is that they were donated to groups. So I think this special Album should be only for copying graphics elsewhere within the forums, but not for viewing as an Album.
