Is it possible to restict (via permissions) who can create 'new' tags?

I mention this because I noticed that tags are 'guessed' by vB as you type them, so if admin can set a bunch of tags themselves - then people can only add ones that have been preset.

This would be great for two reasons, 1) prevent tag abuse very easily, and 2) great for search engines - so we only get the tags/keywords we want.

Of course there would be an option in ACP, so only those that want it can use it.

Yes, this is something I hope we'll be able to do, in addition to setting the maximum number of tags allowed.

Per the FAQ thread in my signature, you can control this. However you cannot create a series of tags before the fact that can be selected from.

Actually you can. There's a tag section under threads in the admin control panel.

And when you say that we can restrict it to fit our needs, does that included putting a limit on tags per thread?
