Templates - going from 3.6.2 to 3.6.8

How long do we have before reverting templates? Can the board be open for a couple of days or does the board need to be closed until these template revisions are made?

That depends entirely on which templates have been modified. You will need to look at all the version announcements from 3.6.3 through 3.6.8 to see which templates are marked as 'Mandatory' changes.
