switching servers - problems changing URL prefix

so, i switched over to hostgator, and they copied the php files over to me, and then the database.

after much problems getting the 470mb datatabase transferred, it worked. then came the vbulletin files.

they finally worked, and we got the config file changed.

now, the problem is changing the URL pre-fix. i can't log on, nor can anyone -- we keep getting looped back to the login screen. not allowing me to log on as admin disallows me to change the URL prefix.

any suggestions on this? hostagator suggested to go through all the tables and update the url prefixes, but i thought there must be something easier and more effective than that.

Login loops such as this are most commonly caused by improper cookie domain and cookie path settings. Uploading tools.php to your admincp and resetting these to the default usually fix this issue. You can find tools.php in your "do not upload" folder. When you are done with it, you must delete it from you server.
