Like Gmail, could be nice to have PMs show as a thread, collapsible, with the last reply expanded.
Also, a report PM thread button, and search PMs feature could be cool.
Extending on this, you could mark a PM thread to send you an email when a reply is made.
Also others could participate in the PM thread too, using multiple recipients.
If you wanna take this even further, a PM thread could have a button to transform it into a normal thread, where all that participated on it have to agree.
