Hi,

Is there a way to bypass the SQL verification for vBulletin like there is for phpNuke? im running version 3.23.58 and unfortunately it cant be upgraded.

No sorry. You will have to stick with 3.5.8.

3.6.x requires MySQL 4.0.16 ir higher.

is there much of a difference between 3.5.8 and 3.6.x? i mean large features.

also is it possible to host using an external database? i have a 2nd host that has a new mysql installation

Yes, there are major differences in feature.

As for using a remote MySQL server, this is certainly possible if both servers are configured to allow these remote connections.
