2 of the biggest UBBs out there switched to ZeroForum.....[remember? The ones that spammed vb members ;)]
http://forums.vwvortex.com/zeromain [they switched last night]
and
http://www.corvetteforum.cc:88/zeromain [im pretty sure they switched within the past week]
Interesting isnt it? :)

Strange, indeed. I guess not everyone will be on the vB bandwagon, they'll come eventually. :D I personally think UBB is better than that ZeroForum thing, I have never even used it before.

I also found something on zeroforum.com,that really I say is out of the truth, comparing the speeds of all the boards. It said vBulletin was the SLOWEST! out of ZF,UBB,and OT.YEAH RIGHT!

Speed wise, ZeroForum appears to be faster than UBB...

Those benchmarks are completely bogus.... first of all the Zeroforum test was from a local server (without network overhead), while the other test were done over the network. Secondly, it doesn't say what they were doing (reads, posting, searches, etc....). Lastly, it was done with one concurrent user, certainly not a real world test.
Honestly they should be ashamed to have posted something like that.

Their benchmarks are laughable. They had tested ZeroForums on a local server, and vBulletin on a remote server. That means network transfer was factored in.

There is discrepancies in the tests as well in the amount of data that was transferred.
If you look at UBB's test it had almost 675,000 bytes transferred.
vBulletin had almost 4 times that amount transferred (so its time was closer to 16-18 seconds for the same amount of data).
Of Course Open Topic has the best time listed (disregarding the obvious cheat) but this is to be expected of a hosted system where the hardware can be completely optimized.

The name ZeroForum makes it sound like its free, of which it isn't, LOL
Well this is the first time I've seen this (and it does seem alright but it lacks features).
I can see why they moved out of UBB, well first of all its the price difference,
:)

Personally I would never go with a hosted bulletin board because you would no longer have total control. :)

Personally, I don't think ZeroForum is a professional concept because:
-They spammed vB members
-They blatantly lie in the comparison of speed
-The name suggests its a free forum, but it isn't
:D

I'll agree with the first two. :D

I used ezboard at one point but left for that reason - I couldn't change the little things that bothered me.
