Is anyone finding that none of their members are remotely interested in blogs? Or is it just me?

I've been running the blog addon for a month now and almost all the blogs posted are from myself. Not even my team want to use it, and nobody seems to comment on any blogs either.

I've done a lot of integration work as well, with Latest Five Blogs showing at the top of both forumhome AND Today's Posts, but nobody's interested at all.

Although it's nicely coded from a technical side, from my own experiences and from reading those of others I am beginning to question whether a blog addon was a good idea. People either get nobody using them, or they get stuff in blogs that would normally have gone in the forum anyway.

I'll stick with it for the 12 month duration of the licence but if it's still as dead as it is then there's no point me renewing and I'll just stick with the forum.

On the other hand my blogs are a huge success on my site. There are now solid bloggers who blog 1-2 entry a day and others are commenting on the entries. It really gave my site a new perspective. I had vblogetin installed previously and users didn't like that a lot. They were using it but not as much as they do now. As i said blogs are a huge success on my site and i already bought the second blog license for a new project of mine. Before purchasing the blogs i carefully checked my site and my site's needs. The biggest mistake i saw on most webmasters they never consider their site's needs. They see a hack on some place which looks cool and they want to have it on their board. However being a webmaster doesn't work that way at all. You shall investigate your site's needs and then choose what hacks do you need for your site. For example if i was an owner of any vBulletin related site i will never be interested in either blogs or any gallery script because i easily know that my site will target webmasters and most webmasters will not blog on my site. They will blog mainly on their own site.
