Some of my members want to know how they can make one category and all of its entries private. Thanks!

You can't and while that is a good suggestion it would greatly complicate the code. I can only suggest that you use draft entries for this purpose.

Hmmm... thinking outside the box then, would it be simpler and easier to have a setting where on the backend all entries for that catagory would be kept as a draft? On the front end, maybe a little magic to say its a private entry for the user only to avoid confusion?

I'll consider the possibilities but I've never rated having private categories as a high priority. You can already create drafts, you can place those drafts in categories. In fact, you can create a category for them and everyone else will just see it as an empty category.
The only issue is that the category wouldn't be linked on the sidebar. What I could do is not show categories with no entries to everyone else, which I've already considered doing and see if I can show those categories to the owner.
