When I try to post a comment, it gets stuck with "Posting Comment... - Please Wait" when using quick comment, and when I hit go advanced, I get a http error page. When I try to post a comment by using post comment link: I get another http error. I get the same error when I try to use trackbacks.

To troubleshoot this, first reupload all the original vB non-image files (except install.php). Make sure you upload these in ASCII format and overwrite the ones on the server. Also be sure to upload the admincp files to whichever directory you have set in your config.php file. Then run 'Suspect File Versions' in Diagnostics to make sure you have all the original files for your version:

Admin CP -> Maintenance -> Diagnostics -> Suspect File Versions

Next, disable all third-party products and plugins:

Admin CP -> Products & Plugins

Then if you still have this problem, create a new style and choose no parent style. This will force it to use the default templates. Finally empty your browser cache, close all browser windows then try again. Make sure you change to the new style and view your forums with it. Do you have the same problem?

We suspect that it is a compatibility problem with suhosin, but we can't find any solution to it yet.

Here is a post that lists some of the recommended suhosin settings for c ompatibility with vB:

Ok, we tried to disable suhosin, and looks like the problem wasn't that :(

Reuploaded files, checked file versions, reverted all templates (using default style), disabled all 3rd party products / plugins, etc. lots of tests. Still no luck.

Then asked a co-worker to check where it stops, he failed to diagnose the problem, but we had no luck with this either. :(

Are you absolutely sure suhosin is disabled? Enable phpinfo in the Admin CP, then provide the URL to your forums. This may help us troubleshoot this problem.

Admin CP -> vBulletin Options -> Server Settings and Optimization Options -> Public phpinfo() Display Enabled
