I have uploaded the contents of the Upload folder to the prospective folders on my site.

I'm receiving the following error when importing the XML from the server (./includes/xml/product-vbblog.xml): (the file is there)

"No file uploaded and no local file found."

And the following error when importing the XML from my computer:

"Please upload the files that came with the vBulletin Blog before installing or upgrading!"

I have checked and double checked that the files are all uploaded. I'm thinking this is something obvious, but darned if I can figure it out.

Thanks! :)

Enable phpinfo in the Admin CP, then provide the URL to your forums. This may help us troubleshoot this problem.

Admin CP -> vBulletin Options -> Server Settings and Optimization Options -> Public phpinfo() Display Enabled

OK, done. URL is www.the400crew.com (http://www.the400crew.com)

Thanks!

The only thing I see that could cause this is that your 'upload_tmp_dir' setting is empty. You (as root) or your host will need to edit php.ini and set 'upload_tmp_dir' to point to the full path to a directory on the server that is chmod'd to 1777.

You may need to restart the server after making this change.

I think I'm losing my mind. I don't see a php.ini on the server or any of my backups. Where is it located? Do I need to recreate it?

Do you have root access to this server? If not, this is something your host will need to do.

Aha. OK. My site is hosted, so I'll go through them.

Thanks, Steve! :D

My hosting site is unresponsive. :( Are there any other workarounds?

Do I need this php.ini file to run the blog setup, in which case it doesn't appear that it installable at this point...?

Wouldn't I have had this same issue when installing vBulletin or any other product imports if this were the issue? I'm not sure - just asking...?

Thanks,
roachie

No sorry. This is only something your host can do. If there were a workaround I would have provided it.

You should submit a support ticket and have one of our support people see if they can get the file to import.

What is different about the blog than the other programs where it doesn't have a place to write the temp files? Still trying to understand.

Thanks again for your help - sorry to be a pest. :o

Excellent - will do. I'm sorry - I've never needed to open a ticket before so wasn't familiar with that process - I'll try to figure out where to do that. Thanks!

D'oh! I had not overwritten the license file from the upload folder over to the site. What a dope... ;)

Thanks again for your help! :D
