the images are all uploaded to images/misc/blog but they just come up with a red x for the IE users and as words for the FF users. Is there anywhere i can check the path??

Are you using the default style, or do you have a customized style using its own image directories?

You have to make sure, if it's the second situation, that you upload the blog folder with its images into the new misc directory used for your style.
