Why are there no avatars in the zip file?

vBulletin does not come with any avatars. However you can find a compressed file containing about 1500 avatars here (http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/showthread.php?postid=129079#post129079).

Is it possible to upload all of the avatars into a directory, or do you have to upload them separately via the CP?

(So, that you can offer "default" avatars the can be selected.)

upload them via ftp then select add multiple avatars and point to the dir.

what you need to do is download the avatars that they provided in here. extract them to a folder , then launch ftp. put them in a folder then choose the avatar option in the Admin CP. Choose multiple Avatars then point them to the folder where your pics were uploaded.
