A few questions and problems here. This thread may be a little long winded. Thank you in advance for your help, I sincerely appreciate it.

Old Forum
VBulletin 3.6.4
mySQL

New Forum
VBulletin 3.6.8
mySQL

I am trying to move my forum. It originally resided on a subdomain (http://forums.rhinoforums.net) and now I have realized that my original plans of utilizing the root domain are void, so I am trying to Move my forum to the root domain (http://www.rhinoforums.net) Everything is exactly the same between the two boards as far as external variables go, and the server and PHP and mySQL versions etc.

What is the best way to go about this? Can I simply copy all the files over from my current setup, fix my options (URL of HomePage etc) and point the config file at the current existing database without using Impex at all? Would my forum listing be built from the database? I am worried about doing this, as I don't want to corrupt my active forum. I have not tried this approach yet.

If Impex needs to be used, what is the best order of installing things to my new forum? These are the steps that I have taken already, followed by the problems that I encountered.

STEPS ALREADY TAKEN
Install VBulletin to the new domain root.
Install Impex
Turn my source boards off
Run Impex (1.82)
Update counters on my target board

ISSUES
While updating my counters, I was unable to import attachments. I used the full server path, and when I ran the tool I received errors "Source file not found" followed by the full path of the source file. I copied and pasted this full path to a terminal window, and sure enough the files are all there. I have also CHMOD all these files/folders to 777. Any help?

After finishing my updating of counters, my forum listing is out of control. The forums and categories are all over the place. The permissions have also been completely screwed up. Why would this happen when importing from vb to vb?

These are the only issues I have noticed so far.

OTHER
Lastly, I am curious what your recommendations would be for the add-ons and hacks that I have done on my source board. I know you guys don't support these modifications, but please give me recommendations as you have more experience with VB than I. Don't worry, I won't throw a fit if your best guesses don't work out. I understand that there is always going to be that margin of error. All that being said, I would surely appreciate your input and thoughts.

What order would you go about re-installing the following? If you would copy and paste this list, and arrange to your best guess it would really help me out. Thanks again guys.

(This is my guess on the best order)

Install VB
Import data via Impex
Import settings via VB AdminCP (vBulletin Options)
Install vbAdvanced CMPS
Install vbGallery
Install vbSEO
Install other hacks and Mods
-vb.Sponsors
-AutoMerge DoublePosts
-Welcome Headers
Repair/Optimize tables via AdminCP
Update Counters via AdminCP

THANK YOU!!!!

Using ImpEx is a last resort with moving forums, and is rarely if ever needed for just a move, I would suggest this :

Awesome! Thank you so much for that link. I followed the instructions to a T, and everything worked great. Much easier than the method I was attempting :).

NOTE: For any users who are also doing this, the one path that I found a bit hidden was Admin CP > Attachments > Attachment Storage Type
Be sure to update this to a new location if you have moved servers or subdomains. (Depending on your server).
