Possible?

Hey, I was just thinking about something. I think this may already be possible to do, I would really like to know if it is. I think this would be some sort of modification I am not sure.

If I had two phpBB forums for example, and they we're both completly differnt. Lets say ones about TV only and the other one is about Swimming only. If I backed them databases up, and the bought a vBulletin lisence and set that up.

Would it be possible to mege those two forum databases into one large database. So the forum would have a TV section and Swimming section, and they will have all the posts from their seperate forums?

For example;

TV Forum;

- 200,000 posts,
- 100,000 threads,
- 1000 members,

Swimming Forum;

- 300,000 posts,
- 200,000 threads,
- 4000 members,

When merged it will have a total of 500,000 posts, 300,000 threads, and 5000 members? Is this possible in anyway, so the two phpBB forums basically become on vBulletin forum?

It is possible with Impex.

Yes, you can buy a vB license, install impex, and have multiple imports into vBulletin.

Thanks for that information guys, I need to now know if this Impex you are speaking of gives you many controle features when merging forums. Do you get the powers to be able to say where the posts are being transered to and what forums they go into etc?

No. They will go into whatever forums they are in currently because you have to import those forums first.

Then I suppose you can manage the forum posts after the transfer then. Is that correct?
