I'm migrating my forums from one server to another and I thought it would be a good time to upgrade php if i need to. I'd rather not if it doesn't make a difference. I think I'm running a version like 4.4.4. I know it's 4.x. Should I bother upgrading to 5.x? Will it improve any functionality if I only use php for the forums?

urgh you are terribly out of date not to mention all the security holes in PHP 4.4.4 so yes you should upgrade but you can't do this yourself unless you're dedicated also look at the requirements for vBulletin .....

System Requirements:
PHP 4.3.3
MySQL 4.0.16
Recommended:
PHP 4.4.2 or 5.1.2 or later
MySQL 5.0.19 or later
I didn't mean to offend you.

Assuming I get both MySQL and PHP updated to the latest version, is there anything vbulletin related that I need to worry about when I migrate the data?
