I'm posting this regarding the concern that having thousands of forums/subforms can cause performance issues with a site.
Would the same be true if instead they were placed in Project Tools?
We have a long long way to go before this becomes an issue at our site, however it is because of known potential performance issues that we have had to be very conservative in the number of subforums that we create to focus on special projects or topical discussions.
The Project Tools addon provides a format with which to address unlimited projects and topical issues, so it is for this reason that I have my long range visors on, hoping for a compartive performance anyalysis.
I understand that this is all relative to the current vB/Project Tools version and hope that there may be a possibility that a future vB forum version might perform better containing thousands of current and archived subforums.
