I just bought PT, but it's useless to me if users can't create their own projects.
Guess I should have asked first.

Cool, that would put some value in my poor 50 bucks *sob*
Can someone confirm this?

Can someone confirm this?
You would have to ask Mike to be 100% sure...
He is likely gone for the night, but will very likely see this thread tommorrow...

We can't confirm that at this point. Right now in version 1.0.0 adding projects is done from the admin control panel, so users can't do this. Users can add tasks to a project. This is the same behaviour as with forums. The staff create the forums and the members populate them.

i think this would be a very important point!
i think on this scenario:
i have a group of "projectleaders" who should be allowed to create own projects and to manage them
because,=> every groupleader shouldnt/cant be admin and shouldn change the things in the acp

why you allow your mods/super mods to edit/delete things?
because the admin isnt here to make everything!
it's ok if you have just 1,2 projects, but what if it is a board of a company with 4 departments where are 50-80 employee (http://dict.tu-chemnitz.de/dings.cgi?o=3021;service=deen;iservice=en-de;query=employee) in every department and they have nonstop new projects/ idees for projects
should the admin recive every day a mail from the groupleaders with the state of the projects and manage them?
i don't think so

I applaud Jelsoft on the release of their first official add-on. I have to concur with the folks saying this needs the ability of users to create and manage projects.
#1, for Enterprise applications. Any type of business will need multiple people to be able to create and manage projects.
#2, the FREE project management add-on for vBulletin here lets you do it:
http://www.vbulletin.org/forum/showthread.php?threadid=150812
This all leads towards the possibility of a $999 Site or Enterprise License for vBulletin where users can create forums and manage the site. What would really be the bees knees is if per-forum backup were possible.

More on this, if this is implemented, you would have to change the PT main page to accommodate dozens of projects.
Please consider this, as creating a project for everyone is a pain in the
(my refund was denied so I'm stuck with this now)
