Converting website question

Hi, if I have a forum, let's say it is SMF on www.website1.com/*forum (http://www.website1.com/*forum) and I wanted to switch it to www.differentwebsite.com/*forum (http://www.differentwebsite.com/*forum) and also change it to vBulletin; is that possible? easy?

You just have to decide whether you want to convert from SMF to vBulletin on the old server or the new server. It's best not to try to convert AND change servers at the same time. That's assuming you are even changing servers. If you're staying on the same server, then it's not a big deal what domain is pointing where.

Also, if your SMF forum is customized in its appearance beyond just color changes, then you'll probably want to install vBulletin and tweak the appearance of it FIRST before attempting an import of the data.

SMF -> vBulletin is done all the time so it's pretty routine using the ImpEx tool. ImpEx is a free download once you buy vBulletin that converts from 40+ different forums into vBulletin.
