rough server requirements?

are there any rough estimated requirements based on system load & board size?

also, in general are there any ways to gauge how much memory a system should actually have? ("in general," because of cases where vbulletin isn't the sole thing on the server)

Really hard to say.. if you do have an existing vB forum running i'd suggest you to post info asked at http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/showthread.php?t=70117

should give us an idea of what you'd need to upgrade to.

If it's a new vB forum then i suggest you anticipate the need to upgrade servers if/when necessarily and just start off with what you can afford first and move on from there.
