Licence: 2nd and 3rd level domain

I have two different forums

The first is on www.domainname.it and the second on thirdlevel.domainname.it

can i use the same licence or i have to buy two licence?

Are they two entirely different installations? If so, are the both publicly available? if so, then yes, it would require a second license.
