I'm new to VBulletin. I have on my admin screen:
Latest version available: 3.6.7 PL1 (http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/showthread.php?p=1355012). You are currently running vBulletin version 3.6.4.

So I need to upgrade, but it told me to download the entire package. I have a bunch of mods and enhancements on my forums, I'm really scared that upgrading is going to break everything. I dont want to overwrite every single file if I dont have to. Can someone plz tell me what is the minimum I can do to upgrade to 3.6.7?

Ive worked in IT in the past and I cant tell you how many horror stories Ive seen with software "upgrades". Vbulletin is new to me, so I just need a bit of guidance. The manual seemed to indicate I need to reupload the entire package.

Hello,

http://www.vbulletin.com/go/backup

Back up your database first, and your forum files. This way, if the upgrade goes bad you can restore to the previously working version.

What kind of customizations have you installed? Plugins and template mods? These shouldn't be a problem. It becomes a problem perhaps if you have source code changes applied to the vbulletin files. If you haven't, just uplaod the 3.6.7pl1 files and run the upgrade.php script.
