View Full Version : HELP: Admin locked out after import

Hi.

After 3 days of unsuccessfully trying to import my phpBB2 board to 3.6.6, I finally managed to complete the import an hour ago.

I go to the forum manager to save the display, and I get the login screen. Now it won't let me log in as admin any more.

I've tried resetting admin using tools.php, but that didn't help, and all the other users are still in the imported active members group.

Help!!!

Register a new user and elevate it to Administrator using tools.php. Then you should be able to login and check the original admin's permissions.

Thanks, but I tried that. I can't register another user because as soon as I go to the forum I get:

vBulletin Message You have been banned for the following reason:
No reason was specified.
Date the ban will be lifted: Never

Never mind. I've restored a clean database and I'm going to start again....:(

Most likely because you didn't sort out the usergorup before you merged the original admin user with an imported user.
