Question about going from phpbb to vbulletin

Hello there everyone, I am new to vbulletin (just installed it tonight) and right now I am currently running phpbb for my forums. I want to try and re-create my site with some of the mods I am currently running to the new site, but am wondering if I should import the database THEN install mods or install mods and THEN import the database. I really would prefer to mod my site first, make sure it's running how I want, then transfer the DB and go live.

Is this advisable or even possible? Any help is greatly appreciated by this vbulletin "noob" :D

Do the import first before doing anything else. After everything is imported correctly, then start on your customizations.
