upgrade from 3.5.4 to 3.6.5

I have upgraded from 3.5.4 to 3.6.5. I ran through all the steps in the installer, each step said 'ok' when finished. It dropped me back off in Admin, but the version information still says 3.5.4. Are there logs that I can verify the upgrade was completed without errors? I expected to see messages and maybe I missed them?

This means that you did not upload all the 3.6.5 files when you upgraded, in particular the 'install/*.xml' files. Reupload all the original vB non-image files (except install.php). Make sure you upload these in ASCII format and overwrite the ones on the server. Also be sure to upload the admincp files to whichever directory you have set in your config.php file.

Then run 'install/finalaupgrade.php' again. Make sure that the XML file versions in the upper right hand corner of the page show 3.6.5.

Not all the files were uploaded correctly.
