This is just my viewpoint on this, but how about organizing the control panel a little more. What started happening with UBB was that all the options fell under one section, and you'd have to scroll forever to find what you want. This is harder with vB because it is a lot more straightforward in its design.
Many of the new features that I read are going to be added seem to have an option in the cp. Pretty soon, you'll need a TOC or a search feature. Now I don't mean anything real fancy, just maybe some colored tables, similar to what UBB has in its CP.
Or maybe sub-menus under "Change Options" (like the Dreamweaver HTML Support Files); so you could select exactly which function you want right in the left frame. Also it seems like some of the parts could be combined, like the user groups/permissions, forum permissions, and users.
Again, this is just me thinking. Hopefully you won't see me as a total lazy-a$$, even though I am ;).
