What methods do you use to make your forums popular, and features to keep it sustainable to others COME back and regularly visit them?
For example, we send out weekly newsletters (emails) on updates of our gaming servers we lease and any community events happening on our forums (i am a co-founder of a Counter-Strike Source clan).
We also have the vB arcade feature which is hugely popular.
We have an old smilies pack which we imported from phpBB. good to see some clever and funny smilies.
However, our shoutbox is possibly our best feature, and people now comment how addictive it is and our forums in general :D
Generally, we have a few core features which gives our forums a nice community feel, and we have more signing up each day.
But what do you do?
