While upgrading from vB3.6 to 3.6.5, I encountered this error that I can NOT fix no matter what I seem to do:

Database error in vBulletin :

mysql_connect(): Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/tmp/mysql.sock' (46)
/forums/includes/class_core.php on line 273

Classname : vb_database*I have carefully checked both config files the working config file and matched it up to the new config file. There doesn't appear to be any errors in either file, so I do not know what to make of this.

One thing I was curious about is if I needed to delete the config.php in my includes folder. Right now config.php exists in the root directory of my forums as well as in the includes folder.

Do you have any customizations installed, any plugins?

Make sure all the files are from 3.6.5, and make sure the config file is correct.

Check with your hosting provider, asking them if the mysql server is online and running, and if the details you are using are correct.
