AdminCP ok, forum just characters.

I have just done a new install with a new forum on a new host, and all seemed to work out fine. AdminCP works fine, but the forum homepage is just lots of weird letters and characters. This is the start of the first string;

Any idea why? AdminCp was the same the first two times i tried to log in, but now it's fine.. Could it be my host, or is this a wrong config or what?

Tried that but with no luck..

AdminCp still works flawlessly, but i get the same if i log out and then try to log in again. For some reason the only way to get back in to AdminCp is to click submit from the log in page, get the weird chars, and then write admincp in the browsers addressbar, and i'm back in.

Worked it out myself, by turning GZIP HTML Output off.

Why was this happening, and what difference does it make for me that i have it turned off?

This occurs if your server is already GZIPing HTML output thus making it double GZIPed and therefore appearing as nonsense. The option is there simply because different servers have different configurations and so while it is needed in vBulletin on some servers, it is not needed on others. It makes no difference to your vBulletin.
