Hello everyone, perhaps someone can tell me something. I bought vbulletin last saturday and got it installed today. The install.php script ran with no problems - that is the problem, it did not ask for username, or password, nor did I put my information into the config.php file. So how was the install script able to create a database and create the tables without some kind of user information? The forum works just fine with no errors at all.

The server is a CentOS, just leased this past weekend.

I have installed forums and content management systems lots of times before (phpbb, pnphpbb, postnuke, mdpro, smf, drupal, gallery from menalto and joomla just to name a few) and have never seen this happen.

If I understand you correctly that is not possible. You have to have edited config.php with the appropriate info for this to work at all.

Yes it is possible, I found out he hosting company did not set the phpmyadmin password - it was blank. That problem has been fixed.

vB would not have installed without the correct database info in your config.php file. :)

I do not want to post anything else as it gets into the security of my site. A ticket was sent to support with full details as to what happened.

And as per your support ticket the correct info - at the time - was in the config.php file. :)
