Help with install Please

I have done all the required database creation, user, pass, etc. and uploaded the modified config file, and the browser only shows the php file in the window. Folder is uploaded onto sever in public area. I am at a loss. Also, does anything need to be put in the table prefixes field in the config.php?

What do you mean by 'browser only shows the php file in the window'?

My guess is that php is not enabled on the server and just showing the contents of the files.
