I am currently using Go-Daddy. I like it because im just starting out with vBulletin and its like $40 a year for hosting.
Everyone says this is a bad host to use though.
What are some cheap alternative options for me?
I want to spend as little as possible in the beginning, because its only me on the forum. But, as it grows, i want to be able to expand and if it ever reached a level of being very popular, be able to expand enouhg to handle thousands of people with tens of thousands of posts each day etc.
But, i want to start off small and cheap!

DreamHost isn't the cheapest host, but I find them much better than GoDaddy. I've heard good things -- mostly -- about HostGator, but haven't used them.

Dreamhost is one of the cheapest hosts around when you use a promo code and a credit card. You can actually get a year of hosting for less than $10.00 and each year you are awarded a certain amount of money to be used either for hosting services or domain names.

And i get great experience with them, and, no, I can't give you my program code here :)

The absolute best in hosting is www.1and1.com, they have incredibly cheap prices and awesome servers and support. Look at that, a 120gb server with 1200gb traffic for $3.79 a month. Its what i use.

The package is great. But check with the BBB. Their customer service is reportedly dreadful. It's outsourced, and they have problems understanding English. But they have good uptime, so if you don't concern yourself about customer support, they'd be OK.
I actually tried them for a few days, but the pathetic support made me move out real fast.

I'm not going to say their the absolute best but they are quite good for the price you pay. I have the $4.99 a month package with them.

I second this. I've seen none better. The best customer service and communication. Good prices, easy to upgrade, and they don't oversell or outsource.

By the strict definition of overselling, pretty much all shared hosts oversell. This is absurd.
