The following settings in the vBulletin Options are optional and should be disabled if you are experiencing high server loads

Server Settings & Optimization Options
- Update Thread Views Immediately
- Update Attachment Views Immediately

User Listing & Profile Viewing
- Show Last Post on Profile Page

Message Attachment Options
- View Attached Images Inline

Message Searching Options
- Automatic Similar Thread Search

Forums Home Page Options
- Display Logged in Users?

Forum Display Options (forumdisplay)
- Show Users Browsing Forums

Thread Display Options (showthread)
- Show Users Browsing Threads
- Check Thread Rating
- Check Thread Subscription
- Show Similar Threads?
