We are interested in vBulletin for an internal forum. Since we already have our users in active directory, and also in a home grown security app in sql server, I am wondering if we can tape into active directory, and sql server for our user stores, or if we would have to maintain yet another user store. Can your product do this? How much customization would be required?

First, you will need to install MySQL. vB will not work with SQL Server.

Second, integrating vBulletin with a non-vB member system would require a rather extensive modification of
the code. Of course, we cannot provide official support for code modifications. What most people do is modify their current system to use the vB member system.
