dedi help question

ok I am new at this dedi server thing..
I have a

Processor: P4 2.4 GHz
Memory: GB DDR
Hard Drive 1: 80 Gigabyte IDE (7200 RPM)
Hard Drive 2: none
Monthly Bandwidth: 1.5 TB (Terabytes)

Server Load Averages 4.69 4.22 7.52 | 137 Users Online (85 members and 52 guests)
peak hours around 350 Users
1. My forum been running SUPER slow...I been getting alot of

.I submit a tick to my host, they told I have to upgrade to a bigger server it will fix the problems..sometimes don't look right to me..:confused:

To fix that you will need to edit your server my.cnf file to increase the 'max_user_connections' setting.

It depends on what you expect the max number of concurrent users to be.

The most is 350 around peak hours

Not that I know, but try doing 360 to make sure it doesn't give that to the 350th user visiting :rolleyes:

Concurrent MySQL sessions are not the same thing as "online users" in vB. If your current setting is 160 and you're smacking into that with only 350 online users, you've either got a ton of hacks installed or your server needs optimization.

I would second the suggestion to have your server config optimized.

Thats incredible, I'm hosting sites way larger than that on a shared server. Have you modded the snot out of the forum ?
