Hi, I am in the process of configuring my new installation of vBulletin. I wanted to see how the posting process "acted" with registration required and then with no registration required. In order to temporarily turn off the registration requirement, I clicked "Modify" under the User Groups and Permissions item. I then clicked "edit" on the Unregistered / Not Logged In category, and changed the "Can post new threads" and "Can reply" radio buttons from No to Yes. Clicked Submit and it had the desired effect; I logged out, then went back into the board without logging in. As expected, I now was able to post (no password was needed) without logging in and without registering.
When I got ready to switch the permission back, to disallow posts from unregistered users, I logged in as Administrator and repeated the steps above. I was surprised that the radio buttons were not where I had left them - they were already marked back to "no". I submitted again anyway, but now my forum still allows me to post with a bogus username and no password. Now I can't seem to reset the forum back like it was, which was requiring registration. Does anyone know what I'm doing wrong? Thanks for your help.
Sincerely,
Lawson
