Possible to import forum data into specific forum ID's?

I am working on an upgrade and in the process decided to redesign some forums. After importing I noticed that Impex will only import data with it's original forum structure and so I wondered if it was possible to manipulate things so that we could selectively choose where the imported forum data would appear instead of rebuilding the original forum layout.

You can't do that with ImpEx. You need custom code to do this during the import.
