I have a site that I just got done putting a forum to before I heard about V-Bulletin! Can you tell me some advantages concerning the security if you would please? Also, is there any set up support as far as mods and site configuration?

We take security very seriously and do the best we can to ensure that vBulletin has no security holes. And when we become aware of a security issue we generally provide patches and updates within 24 hours of confirming a problem.

Unfortunately security issues are a fact of life with online software. While we work hard to avoid and eliminate security issues, we cannot guarantee that our software is completely free from bugs or security issues.
However as our record shows, we aggressively track and fix any security issues as soon as they become known to us.

We do not provide official support for add-ons but there is a vB mod site available for help with these: http://www.vbulletin.org/forum/

There are different versions of VBulletin would you be willing to take a look at the current website which when you see the website type, I think you will be able to tell me what type version I would need, I think! www.auctionforless.com (http://www.auctionforless.com) I am very interested in your forum! I have the freebie accessible in the site by going to the Community tab.

Assuming your server supports the required minimum versions of PHP and MySQL (4.3.3 and 4.0.16 respectively), then you should always install the latest version of vB which at this time is 3.6.4.
