I'm considering buying vBulletin and would prefer to run it on Windows XP Professional x64 with IIS 6.0. Does anyone currently run vBulletin this way? I'm curious if PHP, MySQL, and everything else I would need for vBulletin would work properly.

Also, is it possible with the latest version of vBulletin to have users moderate posts themselves? Basically, allow them to "rate" each post and then other users can filter posts from their view based on a rating, kind of like Slashdot? I see in the manual that vBulletin supports rating, but I don't know what that means for the user - e.g. can they filter based on the rating?

And finally... anyone out there performed a successful conversion to vBulletin from DCForum 1.27? I would probably be converting from DCForum running on Apache to vBulletin running on IIS.

Thanks!

As long as you can install fully functioning copies of PHP and MySQL and have a web server running, that should work.

There is no function to do what you are asking. This requires modifying the code. We cannot officially support code modifications or forums running modified code, however you can try searching or asking for help with this over at www.vbulletin.org (http://www.vbulletin.org).

Don't the client versions of Windows limit you to 10 simultaneous connections? I know they used to...

10 half-open connections.

Halfopen can be changed ;)

But yes, I do believe that XP Pro's ver of IIS have a connection limit...

Yep!
IIS 5.1 for Windows XP Professional is designed for users developing a Web service for home or for office use. It can service only 10 simultaneous client connections, only one Web site, and it does not have all the features of the server versions. IIS replaces the Personal Web Service (PWS), which was found in earlier client versions of Windows. PWS cannot be upgraded to run with Windows XP.
