I currently have a month old forum that is doing well, but want to switch to Vbulletin. I had someone set up this forum using "Lussomo" and I hate it....this friend of a friend is having a ton of trouble getting things to work and my members are getting peeved.

I'm familiar with Vbulletin, but only as a poster/member from other similar sites. So my question's are: how easy or difficult is it going to be for me to set up my own forum? I have ZERO php/html experience. Are there people here who will assist? I don't mind paying.

Lastly, what are the projected yearly costs of a small to medium traffic forum?

I really love these boards, just concerned I may be in over my head and unable to do skins, set up adsence and banners, etc.

Thanks in advance,

Rico

If you have someone who help you setup lussomo -- whatever that is :X -- you can probably ask the person for database info. After you fill those info into the configuration file, it's really just a matter of entering your customer number, and clicking next next next next next to complete the setup.

Setting up forums isn't hard either. You can try it hands on via this link (http://www.vbulletin.com/go/demo).

Cost depends on how graphics intensive your style are, how big attachments are, how often they're donwloaded etc. So it's very variable and I'd imagine it wouldn't be too expensive to start things off... From my experience, the first year or so, the most expensive cost you'll see is probably the license :)

Been following the forum here and was impressed with the quick replies to inquiries and help.
