OK - I've upgraded my forum to 3.6.4 --- I just noticed something odd. When using the quick edit function on showthread - the edit form shows blank edit screen - then I press the "Go Advanced" button ---- the original thread shows, but there's a Message at the top of post:

The following errors occurred when this message was submitted:

The message you have entered is too short. Please lengthen your message to at least 1 characters.

I just notice also that in the Show Thread Templates - there isn't even a showthread_quickedit template..... Kinda weird - Help please!

Thanx,

Jacquii.

Try this. Create a new style and choose no parent style. This will force it to use the default templates. Then change to this style and view your forums with it. Do you have the same problem?

If you do, empty your browser cache, close all browser windows and try again.

created default style - and interestingly enough - no problem with quick edit... What does this mean?

Thanx again - for your help!

It means that your style isn't up to date, as the new style has different variables. Since the input from these new variables is missing, an error message is shown.

My style is BRANDNEW style specifically for vB 3.6.4 - So I don't see how that can be...

At anyrate - any fix for this issue?

Thanx,

Jacquii.

You need to revert your custom templates, then possibly redo your customizations.

OMG - that's a lot of work... What I'm looking for is a particularly quick fix! Perhaps there's a template that you can point me to, as far as possible problem template? Just spent over 30 hours customizing and such and hate to do that again :(

Any other ideas? ALSO what template would be for the quick edit form?

Thanx,

Jacquii.

Check if postbit_quickedit has been edited and if it has revert it.

Does the problem still occur?

Thanx KERRY-ANNE - I'd thought that the quickedit template was in the showthread section - was wondering how on earth can there even be quick_edit when there is no template LOL

@ anyrate - checked postbit_quickedit and reverted - works just fine now.

Must be a modification template edit I performed... Now remedied!
Thanx for your help ;)
