Hi I've recently upgraded from Version 3.0.3 to 3.6.4 - Pretty much all the templates are custom hacked. I want to keep these hacks, but the warning says this could be a problem. The board seems to run fine.. Will this cause any serious problems down the road?

Thank you,

Well usually as each version is released quite a few bugs in the templates get fixed, that aside a jump in versions that big defiantly would require a revert to take advantage of some of the new features especially in the 3.6.x family.

The other thing to keep in mind is that the 3.0.x line had FILE based hacks where as 3.5 & 3.6 both started using plugins and products and hooks to accomplish the same tasks...which means that when you upload the new files your going to lose any modifications you might have made to the PHP files and your not going to WANT to reapply them at that point because in some areas the code has changed so much it will more than likely cause errors.

If your changes are all template based my advice personally is to revert them all and work out how to reapply the changes you've made. Each new release comes with a list of SOME of the key template changes over prior versions (posted with the release announcements) if you go through them you'll have an idea of the job and a half what i'm suggesting will be....but the good news is that if you keep up with releases from here on out, it'll be less painful in the future :p

Remember Though: I don't work for Jelsoft, so before you go doing anything, I'd do some reading for the kind of job you'll be tackling doing them all from a fresh revert or trying to piece it all together from your existing ones :)

Alot of your plugins arnt probally working, but depending on how much u had installed. Your also missing key vbulletin eatures now.
I would look up your plugin on vb.org. Almost all plugins have been updated to 3.5 or higher.
