View Full Version : Imported Smiley Links Not Working

Greetings!

I am a new vBulletin board owner -- we just imported a big board (1.3 million posts/15k members) from UBB.threads. After a few rough patches (many thanks to Cary Sidhom for his help), things are going great on our new board. I have just few unresolved issues -- here's one:

Our old post's smilies (made before the move) are showing up as code rather than images in the new message board. For example, instead of this :) we're seeing this...

Here's an example: http://www.passporterboards.com/forums/showthread.php?t=60709

New posts are displaying smilies fine, of course -- it's just the old posts.

Is there any way to fix this? My bunch are very smiley so all the old posts are very hard to read with all the img codes in them. Maybe some sort of search and replace, or modification, to put the full path in there and make the image links absolute instead of relative?

Thanks!

You can use the cleaner.php script to fix this:

Thank you very much! I didn't do the import, so I wasn't aware that this script needed to be run. I should close the boards before I run the cleaner.php script, right? Is there anything else I should do (I've read the comments in the cleaner.php file and made the appropriate changes) before I run the script?

It's not necessary but I would close the boards.
