With all due respect, Wayne worked many hundreds of hours getting his forums to look like that.
First, it's unrealistic for you to expect someone to tell you 'how' to copy the look of his forums. Second, I'm sure Wayne would like his forums to look unique and not have clones of his design all over the net.
If you have specific questions regarding how to do certain things, then by all means ask. But don't expect to get help when all you want is to copy someone else's forums.

While I am flattered that you want to copy the SitePoint Forums, I think you should be looking at building something unique.
We have built a lot of brand identity into our forums and protect that through all legal channels possible.
That being said, If you have specific questions I will do my best to answer them.

I'm sorry to burst your bubble but I am allmost 100% sure you will not succeed in court when somebody copies your "style".
Define "unique" ?
Not wanting to be offensive but just realistic.

The look and feel of our forums and other network sites are copyrighted and part of our companies image. Direct copying of these hurts our image and our bottom line.
We have been successful before. Maybe you should read up on International Copyright and Trademark laws.

By the three buttons, I am guessing you mean the New Post, Search, and Subscribe links next to the title of each forums. I have posted the exact coding to do this in this same forum before. I am sure if you do a search it will turn up.
The "supported by..." are part of a fairly complex advertising add-on that I am working on. However you could simply create a graphic with the forumid and stick it in the forumhome_forumbit_levelX_nopost templates based on that.

Ok, DIRECT copying ok but not look-a-like.

At first I thought you meant a URL to Wayne's forums and I'm thinking "if he knows they're cool why does he need a URL???". Then I realized you meant the thing he was talking about. :) hehe anyway
