How many changes are required for a style when upgrading from 3.61 to say 3.64? I'm asking because I don't like to have to pay for an upgrade every time I switch. I assume that there isn't a huge difference, but in any case, does anyone know?
Is there a way to see if something isn't the way it should be as well?

You could check the posts in the 3.6.2, 3.6.3 and 3.6.4 about template changes to find which templates.

All customized templates that need to be reverted are shown on your AdminCP index page. If there are not any templates there this means you have no templates need reverting.

Ok, but what changes are made though? Like can I just copy the code I had, revert the template, then put back the code in the place?
I guess I'm just wondering how much coding knowledge I need before I upgrade my skin ya know?

There is a template comparison built-in tool in vBulletin. You may use it to compare changes between the two versions & apply your customizations.

Hmmm...
Ok, well I'm just trying to figure out if someone with limited coding skills (me) can update a style once it's already created for me.
I'm basically just trying to get an idea and am asking other members to comment on wether they think it is easy or not based on their skill level.

Is that something that can be done before I upload new files overwriting old ones etc? Because if not, then I will have upgraded and then be unable to go back.
OH, and one other thing:
I looked through all of the changes between 3.61 and 3.64 and it looks like the only templates that need to be reverted are ones that were not customized in my style. So, my question is...
Assumably, I can upload the 3.64 files over my old stuff. Run the upgrade... then when I see templates that vBulletin tells me need to be reverted I can simply revert those templates without issue, because I never customized them in the first place right?
This way I end up running a new version of vBulletin, which is good, and I don't have to pay someone to redo parts of my style because the templates were changed from one version to the next, which would be bad.

If a template has been updated between versions in the main product and has not been customized on your site then the changes will automatically be applied. The only templates which will not be changed automatically are ones which you have edited.

But if there is no change from version to version, then it won't matter that it doesn't autoupdate those right?

Thats correct. Any templates that have been changed which are not automatically updated will be flagged in your admincp. If there are no changes to the templates that you have edited then they will not be flagged.
